BSA Archive Established at the Grolier Club
February 3, 2016
The Grolier Club Library and the Bibliographical Society of America are pleased to announce the completion of the processing of the records of the Bibliographical Society of America. The archive consists of 67 boxes (84 linear feet) and includes correspondence, financial records, publication drafts and proofs, and copies of publications and monographs, among other materials generated by BSA between 1904 and 2015. These materials provide an in-depth view of the inner workings of BSA and will support scholarship in book history, bibliography, and the study of the book as a material object. The Grolier Club Library is the official repository for the BSA records and will continue to accrue, process, and make incoming materials available for researchers (*please note that some access restrictions may apply).
The finding aid for the records is available through the Grolier Club’s online catalogue (http://grolier.vtls.com:3272/heading/search?theme=grolier). A full folder-level container list is available in the repository.
For more information about using the Grolier Club Library, please visit the website at http://www.grolierclub.org/ or contact the Librarian, Meghan Constantinou, at mconstantinou@grolierclub.org / ph: 212-838-6690
This project was completed in the summer of 2015 with the generous assistance of a BSA grant for Grolier Club archivist Sophia Dahab. Ms. Dahab was assisted by Smith College student Emily Hernandez, whose internship was funded by the Smith College Praxis Program.
