Call for Applications: BSA New Scholars & St. Louis Mercantile Library Prize

The New Scholars Committee recently published a call for applicants, and the link to a new and improved application form is now live on the BSA website. We are very excited to announce that those selected for the panel receive an honorarium of $500, as well as reimbursed expenses of up to $500 toward the cost of attending BSA’s 2020 annual meeting. In addition, awardees receive a complimentary one-year membership in the BSA, and may apply for travel funds to attend a subsequent BSA annual meeting within two years following their presentation to the Society. Please consider submitting an application, or encouraging your colleagues and students to do the same. Applications and letters of recommendation are due September 3, 2019.
The St. Louis Mercantile Library Prize will be awarded at the 2020 annual meeting, and nominations are welcomed for this prestigious award. Funded by the St. Louis Mercantile Library at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, this prize encourages scholarship in the bibliography of American history and literature. Awarded every three years, the prize brings a cash award of $2,000 and a year’s membership in the Society.
